Will I learn to speak German??????????

August 13, 2004

Well we’ve chosen to make a monumental decision. We have decided to host an exchange student. There are many different reasons as to why we shouldn’t necessarily do this, however, we chose to seek God’s will in the matter and after a series of strenuous prayer, we’ve become convinced that God wants us to do this. The student is a female from Germany named Katharina. She’s 16 and will live with us from next week through June of 2005. We are very excited yet aprehensive at the same time. We know that there is potential for some challenges, and we expect them to be honest. Yet, at the same time, we are anticipating the benefits with great excitement!

Tall and proud…..

August 9, 2004

She’s standing tall………….and I’m standing proud. My daughter learned to stand this week, all by herself. Now she’s not standing 24-7 but she has learned to pull herself up at particluar times none the less. I know that it’s been said many, many times by many, many people, but it’s true. Kids do grow up much faster than anyone could ever imagine. I just am shocked, literally shocked, at how much Grace has changed in the few months that she’s been in the world. I can only imagine (with much fear and trepidation) what the next 16-18 years will bring! ( I think I need a pause button.)

Shame, shame, shame………..

August 7, 2004

I know I’m a slacker for not posting in many, many fortnights (or at least a few days.) My brother would literally lable me as unworthy to carry the flame of a blogger. I’m sorry, I don’t have much in the way of excuses other than that I haven’t been all that motivated lately. I must get motivated however, as school is beginning in a week. After this semester I will be tantalizingly close to 50% degree completion. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, this is particularly a large accomplishment in my degree field. If I was in any other field my status would be enough to have graduated already (38 hours).
